Upgrade - ON WRITING AND RUNNING

My smartphone no longer holds a charge. It needs an upgrade or a battery.
My brain no longer holds a thought.
It needs refurbishing or some flattery.

My smartphone has been desensitized by one too many drops.
The screen is cracked, the apps are hacked and it’s running out of memory.
My face has become anesthetized by one too many years.
There’s a toothless grin, a double chin and the skin is rather leathery.

My smartphone can be fixed.
It depends upon the carrier and a boatload of cash.
My brain is not repairable.
The warranty’s expired.
Just toss me in the trash.
