Sleeping Peacefully - ON WRITING AND RUNNING

Sleeping peacefully conveniently, delightfully
And then an altered personality, tragically, melodramatically
Starts spouting, shouting, doubting
Words as if they were meant to be written or smitten, no shittin’
And why is there rhyme, every time, feckless whine
And once the words start, the ol’ fart is not smart
Enough to end the lunacy, suitably with impunity
So early ante meridiem is the circadian oblivion
For me
The words must be imported, hoarded, recorded
Otherwise the sleepless night will ignite a blight
Of upset, regret and creative debt
Usually ending in writers block, writing schlock, what a crock
