It's 95 degrees and it's only 4 o'clock
Moving in the dark so much running isn't mocked
It's early in the morning and already frickin' hot
Sweating like a pig and I'm barely at a trot
Only been a half a mile, why does it seem so tough
I wish that I could glide but all I do is scuff
Silly old fat man struggling up the hill
Silly old fat man hoping to instill
A sense of peace and capacity
To open up the soul
A lot of verve and veracity
With humanity as the goal
Silly old fat man running down the trail
Silly old fat man moving like a snail
Huffing and a puffing, sucking up the air
Takes a little longer to get from here to there
