Point Of No Return - ON WRITING AND RUNNING

Today my soul went dark
I reached a point of no return
The news is pessimistic
And I’m tired of the churn
Fascists are looming large
And the media doesn’t care
It’s all about the clicks
And increasing market share
The rule of law is myth
It depends upon persuasion
Logic is superfluous
It helps to be Caucasian
There is a musky odor
With dollars to seduce
Let’s fumigate the stench
And cut the grifter loose
In the Sonoran desert
There’s a dry lake of denial
It wants but disbelieves your vote
Teleprompting to say Sieg Heil
We have a marginalized chief justice
Outflanked by right wing nutters
Their opinions are illogical
Except to maggot suckers
Next week I will be saddened
By kvetching and by schlepping
I’m moving to another world
I won’t be practicing goose stepping
