In My World - ON WRITING AND RUNNING

For the moment I will be quite candid
I am guilty of taking things for granted
It’s not easy for me to accept this
But before I go I would be remiss
If I didn’t tell you how thankful I am that you are in my world
I’m on the downhill side of the bell curve
Just one way to go, no chance to swerve
Out of control, no more options for hope
A silly dope on a slippery slope
I’m a much better person because you are in my world
The older I get, the aloner I get
I want to be sure there is no regret
That while my heart is softly beating
And these moments are pretty fleeting
I am a better human being because you are in my world
I am just a jerk and a buffoon
I do not plan on leaving soon
Yet the moment is thoroughly clear
And I just wanted you to hear
How I always will be grateful that you are in my world
