Hidden Path - ON WRITING AND RUNNING

I found a hidden path where the cholla's were on the prowl
it revealed a magical sunset to wipe away my scowl
my soul became immersed in orange and pinkish hues
I felt like I was floating as my heart awoke the muse
I heard a raven cawing while wafting in the breeze
the feathers barely fluttered, it seemed to soar with ease
the clouds moved on quixotically in billowed shapes and form
I kept my eyes transfixed while I await the coming storm
the pathway dipped and rose, an endless breathless track
the muse kept getting stronger, there was no turning back
I came around a corner and recognized the view
it was the same old trail but everything seemed new
the hidden path's a haven, a calming place to go
it helps me when i'm feeling up or when i'm feeling low
the senses have been awaken, a tingling fills my heart
I'm feeling so much better with the promise of a fresh start
