Grounded Hog - ON WRITING AND RUNNING

I’ve been living in the dark for quite a lengthy stretch
I figured people were bored with my whines and my kvetch
Synapses are misfiring, words have lost all meaning
I’ve always had sleep issues which severs any dreaming
As I’m getting older it’s obvious that I’ve been a schmuck
My future is vampiric where I’m guaranteed to suck
The person that I disappoint I’ve been with all my life
I remain aloof and apart to mitigate the strife
Every once in a blue moon I come out from my cell
Just to say hello and immediately say farewell
