Ferschimmeled - ON WRITING AND RUNNING

Recently I’ve been ferschimmeled by everything I type
It has a lyrical aspect but really it’s just tripe
Synapses are firing but there’s a glitch in the circuitry
Somehow I’ve filled my writing with inane absurdity
Is the propensity to rhyme causing this malfunction
Or just the lack of brain cells inducing the dysfunction
Perhaps it is the meter and it’s sing-song ping pong way
The words seem so banal and the result is too cliche
I am lacking in emotions, too shy to share my views
Methinks I am a geezer, just too old to have a muse
I guess I have reached the stage where I’m running out of rhyme
Too stubborn to change my habits, too close to the end of time
