A Long Night - ON WRITING AND RUNNING

A long night of sleep leads to a short time of day.
I wish both were quite peaceful but I feel far away.
Like nowhere on earth nor even the moon.
This started in April and now it is June.
Far beyond the distance is the grievous perception
that my overall being has been one manic deception.
Common sense no longer matters in this day and age
it's all about transgressions and the subsequent rage.
The anger is killing me, both physical and mental,
I feel pretty twisted as if I'm a pretzel.
While minutes remain I seek some serenity,
it may be too late just based on my heredity.
However much time is granted to me,
I'm looking for solace and the need to be free.
